    FLV Direct What Is It?


    Hi All,

    I just installed a new Pioneer dvd burner into my tower pc today and when i reset the pc i now get a pop saying "a driver is outdated" then a get a pop from www.FLV Direct" which im sure is dodgey.
    Can someone help me with this please?
    Im running windows 7 64 bit.
    Can i remove this popup?

    It's a video player bundled with a load of malware. If it's already installed you'll need to remove it and remove the malware along with it. Here are some resources:

    Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
    SuperAntiSpyware

    If you don't have an anti-virus:
    Microsoft Security Essentials

    If you don't have a firewall:
    Comodo Firewall (Install as Firewall Only)

    Alternative video player:
    Video Lan - VLC Media Player

    I searched through add/remove programmes and see nothing named FLV.
    I did install limewire the other day but i removed it and reset my pc and still get the popup "FLV Direct installation,The installer is outdated please download the new version".
    Im using Norton 360 v4 and tried spybot with no luck.

    Do a system restore to a point before you installed the software ... Also... Limewire is a virus magnet... forewarned is forearmed..

    Tried doing system restore with no luck.
    Any other ideas to remove this popup?

    A clean install will cure your ills.. NB!! You need to start imaging your system to avoid future problems... Backup Complete Computer - Create an Image Backup
