#9, There are no file extention to change as it is streamed, that's the problem. I am aware of file extention as you describe, but I still miss that single one that made VLC the default player. I have changed ALL the file extention which has something to to with video (.asf, .avi, MP4 aso) and all videofile I d.click starts in VLC, but NOT the streamed TV-link! I even found a key with regedit.exe that shows what to use when open MMS, but after I changed this to VLC ... it still opens in WMP.
And yes, I am sure that VLC support this, as I can see streamed TV in VLC, if I manually put the link into VLC (CTRL+N to open mediastream in VLC)

Locate the streaming file, hold the Shift key and right-click the file. Are you able to see a menu where you can select Open With and then choose the application you want to use to play streaming files?
