    RC1 to Grand Finale

Tomorrow Windows 7 RC will officially come out legally. Many will try it and I want to but I am not certain if I want to dive right into it at this point. I would change the start menu button if I could when the final OS comes out. But I have seen Windows 7 Transformational Pack and it looks great. Almost like the real thing. Not trying that either. It messes with the system files too much for my taste. I hope we can get the final thing by September/October. That would be good. Wonder if MS will actually give that version away and I also wonder if they will encrypt and block pirated versions on bittorrent. Or will it be like XP/ME with the piracy issues. I have to ask seeing as how MS has been giving stuff away so much lately. Oh, well, such is life.

What have Microsoft been giving away? It is known that there will be a free upgrade path available to OEM's so that anyone buying a Dell for instance with Vista pre-installed will be able to upgrade to Windows 7 at no charge. There are conditions and certain dates that need to be met though.

As philanthropic as Bill Gates appears, Microsoft are not going to be giving anything away.....

Umm. duh! Microsoft gave away free copies of a beta Windows 7 on hard drives last year. Gave it away!! They are in test stages and they don't want another Vista situation. They want success. They are trying a new method now. Same thing happened after Napster where subscriptions services popped up, like iTunes. Piracy is still going on, bittorrent or whatever. MS loves to make money. Why you think they pushed XP so much after Vista's failure. They wanted to milk the OS. People where downgraded. Windows 7 has seen so many leaks, legal or illegal but the fact that MS is involving the people says something. MS can't be selfish, they have got to give to receive now!

Why not give RC1 a go on May 5th. I think youl like it and with the new XP mode thing you wont have to worry about compatibility so much.

RC1 on May 5? I thought it came out yesterday, April 30. What's up with that?

I am glad that RC will even reach the rest of the world. I just want the finished product by September/October the latest. I hope it doesn't have the confirmation dialogs stuff. I want the system to work efficiently and not lag all the time like Vista. I am beginning to like the taskbar and start menu. It has started to grow on me, especially what I have seen in the Transformation Pack. I don't want a bag of serial numbers and activation stuff. I just want to be able to install with a key and use it on all the computers in my house without unnecessary paying and hassles. I don't want to cheat. I just want the process to be able to flow. I have faith...I really do.

    Whoo! Ha Ha!
