If you use the trial, it should run.
The DVD drive only matters if you order a DVD with the software on

Content-Aware Fill/Scale/Heal is the best innovation to photoshop since the invention of color! Got a govt upgrade for my master collection CS4, and will never turn back!

When i showed it to my friends, they called it black magic. That would be a good codename for the new Photoshop.

    And finally, does processor matter? Intel® Pentium® 4 or AMD Athlon® 64 processor that's the requirement.. I have a Intel Atom CPU N270 @ 1.60 GHz 1.60 GHz

I used to run CS4 on my Asus Eee. That had an Intel Atom N270 1.6ghz and 2 GB DDR2 Ram. Ran okay actually.

Well that's because it was CS4, meh.. CS5 seemingly is way different, and even so your's had one more gig of ram, so it might not work anyway. I'm a bit nervous as I'd die if I break my netbook pal,

Worst thing that can happen, is that photoshop is slow, and will crash. There aint any other risk that that really.
