Windows 7: hide printers in application printer menu list

Can you hide printers from the list of printers that are shown on an select printer list in an application?

Some applications for example, Quickbooks install printers to create pdf reports within the program. I would like to hide these from the list of available printers in the select printer list.

I have to say though that I think the facility that you have with Quickbooks is a very a useful one if you haven't PDF facilities already installed.

I used Quickbooks as an example but it applies to the print menu in all windows programs. For example in the select printer menu for notepad shows a long list of printers. I would like to limit the list to only a few printers.
