Adobe Photoshop 5 I tried searching your forum but most people seem to be running CS4 or CS3. Unfortunately, I am running an older version of Photoshop. I just purchased Win 7 Pro 64 Bits this weekend and I seem to be failing at getting certain programs to even install. Adobe Photoshop 5 is one of these programs.
Does anyone know how to get this program to install under this platform? Thank you in advance.

Hi there,
You could try installing it using Compatibility Mode, as explained here: Compatibility Mode
Let me know if that helps at all.
Cheers,
Walker

I right clicked on the icon and set the compatibility mode to run in Windows XP SP2. I also tried Win98. Both fail and produce the same message.

That's odd. Are you trying to install the 32 bit version of Photoshop or the 64 bit version? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Model #: BRMD10926 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 RC CPU Core i5-750 2.66Ghz OC'd to 3.49 Motherboard Gigabyte H55M-USB3 Memory 8GB Crucial Ballistix DDR3 1600 with thermal monitor Graphics Card Geforce GTS 250 512MB HDMI Sound Card On Board Realtek HD Monitor(s) Displays Acer X223HQ Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Gear Heads 2.4 Ghz wireless Mouse Gear Heads 2.4 Ghz wireless PSU Rosewill 700W Case Thermaltake V9 Black Edition Cooling Corsair H50 Hard Drives Samsung Spinpoint 7200 1TB

I have Adobe Photoshop 5 - an old version compared to what's available now - so I'm assuming its 32 bit. | My System Specs

Oh damn, I thought you meant CS5.
I'm going to guess that it's not compatible, since it doesn't show up anywhere on the Windows 7 compatiblity list. Compatibility Photoshop 5
If Compatibility mode isn't working, I would suggest installing it in Windows XP mode and see if that works. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Model #: BRMD10926 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1 RC CPU Core i5-750 2.66Ghz OC'd to 3.49 Motherboard Gigabyte H55M-USB3 Memory 8GB Crucial Ballistix DDR3 1600 with thermal monitor Graphics Card Geforce GTS 250 512MB HDMI Sound Card On Board Realtek HD Monitor(s) Displays Acer X223HQ Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Gear Heads 2.4 Ghz wireless Mouse Gear Heads 2.4 Ghz wireless PSU Rosewill 700W Case Thermaltake V9 Black Edition Cooling Corsair H50 Hard Drives Samsung Spinpoint 7200 1TB

A couple questions for you.
I have never used virtual PC. I have no idea what it is really. Am I partioning my drive and rebooting the comp each time I want to switch platforms? I really dont want to install anything like this.
If not, I'm assuming both platforms are kinda running at one time. How easy is it to switch platforms and how much of my system resources does it take to run both?
Sorry for the noob questions. | My System Specs

Virtual PC runs inside your Windows installation, so they are both running at the same time. You can run XP mode inside a window, and switch back and forth between it and 7 as you need too. No rebooting or anything necessary.
