    Snipping Tool problem

The snipping tool is not saving anymore when i click Save As, it won't let me browse a place to save it and if i press Save nothing happens or at least it seems because i don't know where the default is, a corrupt registry maybe? anyway to fix it or check?

You may try a system restore to get to a point before the troubles.

I have it disabled, but could the problem so for the benefit of other forum users i fix editing the registry. The thing is that an entry in the registry was pointing to a folder i deleted "My Pictures" so i just edited it and redirected to My Documents folder where i wanted the pictures to be. Remember always backup the registry before doing changes. Check attachment for reference.

If you want a really nice snipping tool, try Jing. It is free and has a lot of nifty functions - beats the old snipping tool any time. One of the nice functions is that you can program it to a Function key. Thus you can make snips of contect menues and fly-outs too. Plus all the annotation, arrow, etc. functions in 9 colors.

I had a identical problem a few months ago, solved it by following a similar procedure. I have the same problem now, I can't solve it !?!?!

i am also having this issue. The registry entries pointed to above don't seem to be the issue for me either.

Also Jing requires you to sign up for an account so you can share the screen caps online. Not for everybody.

The snipping tool I like is MWSnap 3. It runs circles around Win7's snipping tool.
