MPC 32 v 64
I realized today that my MPC is the 32bit version while my Windows is 64 because I got MPC by downloading CCCP and the 32bit version is apparently the one in their codec package. Does it really make a difference if I run 32bit MPC on my computer, or should I uninstall it and get the 64bit version? If 32bit versions can run on 64bit computers, why make a 64bit version of MPC?
Thanks.

In answer to your question 64bit programs are capable of utilising more RAM than 32bit applications although this is only really noticeabl with more than 4GB of RAM.
In your situation it doesn't really matter if you have the 32bit or 64bit version installed although the 64bit version may run marginely faster/smoother than the 32bit version.
If you have a 64bit PC then you might as well use the 64bit apps available for it.

Hmm, I can't figure out how to uninstall MPC without uninstalling CCCP. It also seems like MPC is integrated with CCCP's settings/filters/codecs/etc. I wonder why CCCP doesn't release a 32 and 64 bit version of their package. Oh well.

I can't explain why but the 64 bit MPC Home Cinema on Windows 764 bit works much better than the 32 bit MPC on windows 7 32 bit. Both are on the same computer with exactly the same setup. I just migrated to 64 bit including all my files programs and junk.
Among the improvements are MPC launches faster. MPC doesn't hang for a while when using EVR. MPC uses less CPU power. I can now view HD movies in my lowest clock speed. 1.6GHz.

CCCP installs a lot of components- Haali splitter, VSfilter, FFDShow, Gabest's MPEG2 decoder, CoreWavPack, Gabest's FLV splitter and of course MPC-HC. Out of these, 64 bit version is available for MPC-HC, one for FFDShow is in development, theres one for Haali now as far as i know. Bit the other pieces are not in place yet. VSFilter, i think is not even maintained actively. So unless all these pieces first fall in place, CCCP 64 bit cannot come out.
