Windows 7: Spotify - no icon in taskbar

When I installed the latest spotify, I get no desktop icon (or the default icon icon, which looks like a white square with some boxes on it, similar to the 'broken image' icon) and the same icon appears in the taskbar when the app is running.

The correct spotify icon appears in the system tray but nowhere else. Is there any way to fix this?

Got the same problem

I have it pinned to the taskbar and the default white icon is a real nuisance to look at.

When I first installed it I could see the icon fine but I don't know what happened since.

I have solved it by creating a new shortcut for spotify.exe which I then pinned again to the taskbar. Hope this will stay this time
