Put subs in VLC

Hi guys, I downloaded a movie and subs included in the same folder, so if I play the movie I can easily insert subs in vlc, I know that. But I wanna burn the movie and play it in my dvd player, so I was wondering, can I save the subs in vlc so it will work in dvd player?

Some DVD programs allow you to put subs in. You will not need VLC media player to do this.
