[Solved] Unable to use the Magnifier, it closes by itself.

    Hi eveyrone,

I have this problem since 2/3 months.

Before, I was able to use the magnifier without having any problem with it.
Now I can't anymore. Sometimes it works 10 seconds, then closes by itself. Sometimes it won't open at all.

I tried many things, like deleting and reinstalling the magnify.exe.
I updated my graphic card many times ...
I even re-installed my Windows 7, but using the upgrade option (so maybe it's like not doing anything ?)

My windows version is : Windows 7 Home Premium in French (Windows 7 Familial Premium)
My graphic card is : Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT

I don't have any firewall, and changed my antivirus many times.

Here is a video showing what's happening when it won't open at all :

Please help, I've been trying to find any solution on the internet, but never found anything.

thats a lot of effort to go thru for magnify.

Have you tried restoring from a backup before the problem existed?

Have you tried a repair install?

If all else fails there are 3rd party apps that do the same thing

    Hi zigzag3143,

I use Magnifier a lot, cause I watch my videos from my bed, and it allows me to see my file from there and choose the video I want to watch ...

I didn't tried a Backup, and it's too late for that now.
But I made a repair install and it didn't work.

As for the 3rd party apps, sadly none of them is this good

    Cheers,

    Ryan.

PS : Do not hesitate, if you want to answer to me on the two website, do not hesitate to simply make a copy/paste. And sorry again for that, but I have to post on a lot of sites if I want to find the answer. I hope you understand.

Problem solved, thanks to diabillic from Geektogo.

It's because of the software IntelliType Pro from Microsoft, it's a sofware for Microsoft's Keyboard.

Another software may cause the same kind of problem. IntelliPoint from Microsoft, which is for mouses.

I removed the software IntelliType, and now it works perfectly !!!

Thanks to everyone who tried to help,

    Cheers,

    Ryan.

Thank you so much! Uninstalling IntelliType worked.
I was having the same problem with the magnifier. Just yesterday I went through the process of installing the OS and restoring files b/c I installed a new HD. It was starting to look like I had to do it all over again, already. I kept searching for an answer to this issue to no avail. I finally stumbled upon this helpful site, and had to register to give my thanks!
