windows7 & adobe flash

hi
got the windwos 7 RC 7100. installation worked fine, anything did so far, but now i got the problem i can't install the adobe flash player. tried it in IE8 and opera. when i try to download/install it via the adobe site, i choose windows xp/vista/2003 ... and click continue. then happends nothing, no error, no install, no download. in both browsers.
also tried the "full_flashplayer_win.msi" (found in another thread here). this one i can install, but when i try to use it my browser tells me i should install flash

help please and sorry for the bad english^^

You still have to install the flash ActiveX in IE, even after installing flash from Adobe. It seems that Adobe now has two options seperated, one for IE and one for FF. Try turning off any AntiVirus program temporarily and install both options from Adobe, then go to Youtube in IE, and click on a video, click where it says install flash, then allow the ActiveX from the drop down bar.

Glad you got it to work. Still no love for Opera? I don't have Opera, so I wouldn't know what might be the problem.

Win 7 RC

I've tried installing various versions of Flash, with no success. Am currently using 7 RC 1, banging head against wall--must have Flash, please help. I'm pretty sure I had no problem installing it with build 7000, oddly.

I had the same problem. I had other problems too so I reloaded Windows 7. Then I installed Firefox from scratch. If you uninstall Firefox make sure the program files folder is gone. Then make sure the mozilla folders in your user profile under appdata (both local and roaming) are gone or rename them. Then do a fresh install.

I then installed this version of flash and it worked. I then copied my back up folders under my old profile back and it still worked. I back up these folders to keep my history, passwords etc...

EDIT: I cannot be sure which version I downloaded because I already have it some sites detect that and just tell me I have it installed.

I think it was this one where you have to specify it is for Windows, not IE.

EDIT2: I also downloaded it and then ran as administrator vs installing live. Don't know if that made any difference, but better safe than sorry. I do that for all installs on Windows 7 RC just to take it out of the equation when troubleshooting.

Good Luck.

EDIT 3 - you have to tell it is it is for Netscape, and other browsers not IE - both are still for windows.
