AOL instant messenger/aim problem.

    AOL instant messenger/aim problem.


    Just received a new dell and in the process of setting up and moving files from my old computer. I am running windows 7 home 64bit. I downloaded the newest version of aim from the aol website, installed and log on. Everythings fine except when i send messages, it freezes for 30+ seconds at a time before the message goes through. Anyone else experiencing this problem or have any clue what the problem is? I tried to search but couldnt find anything. If i missed something i apologize.

    Are you using "homegroup" for networking?

    Are you using "homegroup" for networking?
    Not that i know of. Is there something i should or shouldnt do with homegroup? I removed the icon from the desktop today....thats about all i can think of.

disabling instant messenger
in Installation & Setup

I never use IM and in XP I always disabled it. I would like to do the same in my new laptop running Windows 7 home premium but do not know how to do it in W7. Can someone kindly advise? Thanks
I am currently using/experimenting with Digsby and I have to say it's really nice to be able to use popular IM services like AIM, Yahoo, MSN, ICQ etc. and also Facebook contacts! :p What do you use and what do you like best?
Anyone been having problems with it? I had been using it for a couple weeks with no problems at all, then all of a sudden a couple days ago, it quit working. By quitting, I mean that it starts, but when I hit sign in it gets to "Starting..." then it shuts down. I don't get any error or message...
