Want MKV to be included in WMP 12

I've installed KLite Codecs and my WMP will play my assorted files of video (MKV, AVI, and FLC). In the WMP library in the Video category there are thumbnails of movies and other videos I've saved in my hard drive. I see that only my AVIs have thumbnails. I was wondering if there was any way to include the FLC and MKV files in the library with thumbnails? I like to have some consistency in my media library is why :)

    TIA.

I found this and am wondering if anyone has used this here? It seems to integrate into WMP and show thumbnails for the video files I mentioned.

I have downloaded shark007 codecs ... I don't have any MKV files, but why don't you try it?

Thanks Jacee. I have downloaded the codecs and the X64 component add on. I'm going to give it a shot and uninstall KLite.

I echo Jacee by advising using shark007 codec pack as they not only play the format you want them to(and many more) but they also integrate well with windows 7, others don't seem to play nice with integration(for me).

Still trying to figure out Shark. In explorer the thumbnails for mkv and flv now show up but.... in WMP I cannot add anything to the library. I go to organize>> manage libraries>> and delete and readd the folders. It did work one time but as an FLV was playing I couldn't FF throughout the video. Any attempt to do so would restart the video. I exited WMP and restarted only to see that all my newly added videos gone.

I also tried dragging the actual video file into the WMP GUI (usually worked for me this way also) but it won't add. I did sharks suggestion about right-clicking and choosing add to WMP playlist- didn't work.

It's not a huge deal for me so I'll deal. I do like the Shark Codecs so far as it seems unobtrusive.
