Annoying error message that won't go away

Hi there,

Try reinstalling WLMessenger/WLMail and see if it still happens. If so, let me know and we'll continue troubleshooting. If not, try removing the program(s) from your Startup items (type "msconfig" in Start menu search), uninstall again, and restart.

It should be from something written in Delphi or C++ Builder. .bpl files are run time library files, sort of like dlls only specific to Delphi/C++ Builder. I would try to download it someplace and see if that fixes it.

edit: either that or try to figure out what you removed lately that was written in Delphi.

edit2: the error message gives address 0. Something used a Null Pointer. Probably something tried to allocated memory, the memory allocation failed, but it never checked the return for a valid address. It just assumed it succeeded and used it. 0 is the bottom of memory. Every since 386 you're not supposed to go there(not really supposed to go there before that but you usually could without trapping out the CPU.)

Whatever new software, hardware or update you did was either badly installed or that the driver or update was bad. Try to revert what you did by going back on your registry before you installed whatever you installed happened.

I didn't install any drivers lately but I did use Revo Uninstaller Pro to uninstall Windows Live Messenger/Mail. Here's what happened: At first, I just wanted to get rid of Windows Live Mail. When I started the uninstalling process through Revo, the uninstaller asked me what programs I want to uninstall, I picked Windows Live Mail, after the uninstalling was . Revo checked for leftover registry files and I selected all by accident without looking through the list, then I realized that I checked some Windows Live Messenger files. That's when I started to uninstall and reinstall many times trying to fix it.

I only uninstalled Windows Live Mail/Messenger and reinstalled Windows Live Messenger. Also installed WinDirStat and updated Google Chrome and CCleaner.

You said you're no longer able to create System Restore points, but do you have any previous points you could restore to? I assume that's what you meant too, but I just thought I'd ask...

As soon as I encountered the error, I tried restoring to a previous state and none could be found. Even though, Revo always creates System Restore points before uninstalling. Weird...

Please add some computer specs in your profile so we can help.
Is Retore turned on? Do you actually see any restore point when looking to find one from the Calander?
Do you have sufficient HD space for restore point storage?

Chances are the .bpl got uninstalled because the uninstaller thought nothing was using it. I've been burned by that a bunch of times. I never uninstall libraries now unless it's inside the folder with the .exe so only used by it.

(I realize you did it inadvertantly but that's another reason I'm reluctant to use uninstall cleanup utilities. Now I just use the program's uninstaller and then check if it left any Registry crud by using CCleaner.)
