    Silverlight - Needed component?

Read some stuff on Silverlight and just got an update for it. From what I gather it's not really needed and a competitor for Adobe.

But I'm wondering, does it improve/help with anything, or is it just taking up disk space?

    Welcome

I do not use it. Why have duplicate software, chose the one you want and use it. In your case it just takes up space.

So, it's basically a choice which one you want to use? Adobe or Silverlight.

Rather than my saying yes or no, read this and you can decide

What is Silverlight, and do I need it?

But I will say, I have never used it.

"Do you need it? Probably not yet. But I'm guessing that someday you will want it. And even if you don't, I'm guessing not having it will, eventually, be annoying enough that you'll give in and install it anyway. This is a frustratingly classic case of "Resistance is Futile".

    LMAO....too funny.

I guess I'll leave it in there as long as doesn't degrade sys performance.

Thanks for the article richc46, that summed it up pretty well.
