What about this program

If it is HDD then this is what you are looking for,, This does what Dban and all others can not do. HDDErase - securely erases data completely
There i no reason to not use this as it uses a builtin function of the Hard Drive.

You will get a lot off different programs recommended and it boils down to personal preference.Dban has a very good reputation and you could not go wrong with it
