    Lightscribe question

Can i use lightscribe to create disc labels on Windows 7.

I heard somewhere that you can't use lightscribe on Windows 7.

    Is this true?

I'm using the current versions of Lightscribe system software and Template Labeler (available at LightScribe) on my Win 7 x64 RC installation with no problems.

It seems that with v.7100 of Win 7 it's OK. With the version 7000 we had to do a workaround.

    Lightscribe in W7/RC7100

I have the latest drivers and software from Lightscribe. The drivers and software will not recognize the Lightscribe DVD's. I have a dual boot. The software/drivers/drives work perfectly in Vista 64. The Lightscribe fora are not helpful. Even though the drivers/software state that they work with W7, in my case, I cannot get them to work at all. Interestingly, they worked in the beta version.

    Lightscribe Software

Thank you for your response. Yes, I have downloaded and installed the aforementioned software. In spite of my following the instructions, the software still does not recognize my Lightscribe drives. As I mentioned before, the latest software works well in Vista 64. In addition, the software worked for me in W7 Beta. I am admitting defeat and returning to Vista 64. Thank you for your help.

No Lightscribe Drives Found - Solved

The Lightscribe labeling program could not find any Lightscribe drives. I tried all the solution recommended to no avail. After perusing the Lightscribe fora, I noticed that several people who had this problem solved it by rolling back the drivers for their Lightscribe DVD's. I reinstalled the Vista 64 drivers onto Windows 7. Problem solved.
