If you still want to go for a registry cleaner I would advise you to check out glary utilities which is free. I have used it and it is much more than a registry cleaner and a great software. Just make sure that you skip the box of installing their search bar on your browser while you install it for the first time. If you skip the bar everything else is quite ok. I have not used it for a long time and I dont have it in Windows 7 but it is a good software I used previously.

I have personally used a number of these on my own system, well backed up. But I wouldn't recommend them, which is why I didn't list them. If I mess up my machine fine, but I won't recommend things that might mess up yours

What is the best Free registry cleaner?
I am having trouble with my computer & I think the registery needs to be cleaned. I used to use "Regitry Cleaner" from MS, but can't find it. Where can I download a good Registry Cleaner that is free. I tried some "Free" & when they ended they told me I had 330 errors but wanted $29.99...

Running Windows 7 32-bit operating system on Gateway GT5622 desktop computer. Event Viewer reports errors 7026, 7003, and 7001. The description for these errors is misconfigured system files. Should I use a system cleaner to correct these errors? :confused:

Have Win-7 Ultimate. When I run CCleaner I get this readout: When told to clean all the registry it says it has cleaned it. But when C Cleaner is run again the exact readout is repeated. Obviously not cleaning it...
