burned CD bugs Vista vs 7

when i wanted to install windows 7 to replace my windows vista i made a couple of back up CDs for the image files i have. the funny thing is, i used these image files regularly with my vista and there was no problem.
after the installation the OS recognizes the disk and knows that the disk is full(only 500mg free out of the 4.2 gigs) it also knows the name i gave to the CD but there is only one small problem: when i open the CD there is nothing in there. no file, no ISO, no nothing. so when i open the folder the system treats the CD as if it's empty and tells me to drag the folders i want burned.

am i doing something wrong here? is there an update to fix this?

Try using Imgburn. Open the disc in Read Mode. See if it recognizes files. It sounds like Vista had a driver for a file system type that W7 does not.

    The Official ImgBurn Website

there's a link to a forum with guides on the site

After installing Imgburn. Run it. Click Mode in the menu. Select Read with the disc in the drive. If it can't see anything then you're likely missing a driver.
