    Hello all!

I just found this forum yesterday, late at night. It's good to have this, for most of us (i think) will run in to some troubles at some point! :)

Now, i downloaded the newest version of Daemon Tools Lite. It installed, but when i booted Windows the next time, it told me that this program is not compatible. I tried to use it anyway and then it told me that "You need local administrator priviledges to run for the first time". I am an administrator or at least so it says under my user name in User Accounts window. I haven't made any other accounts.

I'm confused on how to get this working?

EDIT: Just found a way! I was looking at another thread and there was this thing called "Run as administrator". Then i was able to use Daemon Tools for the first time.

I would suggest not using any programs not compatible with win7, especially running them as admins. The reason for this page is to help people find safe compatible programs for win7. Take it from me, using programs not compatible or safe with windows 7 can be a nightmare. All of us have programs we want to use but there haven't been releases for windows 7 compatibility and though it may suck, its better to live with it then find a backdoor to use it. Just my thoughts, good luck with it and Welcome to Windows Seven Forums

Hello Nuu, and welcome to SevenForums

There were issues with older versions of this software in the early days of Windows 7 (pre-Beta), but this is apparently fixed with the latest driver for use with the program. If you do a search of the forums or have a look on the Daemon Tools website you should be able to ensure you have a fully compatible version :)

IObit Launches Game Booster to Accelerate PC Games for Free

Game Booster | Better Play Experience | Game Accelerator

Shawn, Not sure if this is better here or in gaming or news Feel free to tidy up and move as you see fit :)
Allright, a problem i have been searching up on has now been resolved it seems.
IObit Game-booster had some false flags directed towards it when it comes to
virus protection and hazardous warnings. I found out that this was related to a
earlier version and has now recently been solved by the GameBooster dev.
I really like the idea behind the software and are very happy
    to report this.

    Selector 1.1

Selector 1.1 is one of my Windows Hotkey Utilities. I've tried it on Windows 7 32 bit build 7077, Vista64 Home Premium SP1 and XP Pro SP2.

The default Hotkey is Shift-NumPadDiv but you can change it via the Tray Icon Menu.

The main application of the utility is to launch a browser with selected text or clipboard text as command line parameter. Instead of installing a plugin in each of your browsers to open links or the current page in another browser, just drag & drop shortcuts to all your browsers onto the Selector ListBox.

Or you can add individual items via the popup window Add button.

    Example usages:

To open the current page in another browser, click the address bar to highlight the url, hit the Selector hotkey, double click the browser in the list.

To open a link in another browser, right click the link, use "copy link location" or equivalent command to put the url in the clipboard, hit the hotkey, select "Clipboard Text" Radio Button, double click the browser in the list.

You can add any program that would benefit by having selected text or clipboard text as a command line parameter. You can also click the "Text" Radio Button and leave the input blank to launch with no command line params.

Add any program or shortcut and use as a quicky launcher.

In the clipboard handling, I try to get the current clipboard text and save it before copying selected text, then I put the original clip text back in the clipboard. This is to attempt to avoid interfering with your work if you are using the clipboard for editing text or whatnot. If images or other non text data is in the clipboard, it's not preserved.

Selector is free for you to use at your own risk. It may be downloaded from this page:
    Hotkeys

edit: btw I should note that it requires the MS Scripting.Dictionary be on the machine. I believe if you have .NET 2.0 or later it's already there. In any case I'm sure you can download from MS site if you need to.

    Here's a screen shot.

WSCC - KLS SOFT - WSCC - Windows System Control Center

WSCC is a free, portable program that allows you to install, update, execute and organize the utilities from various system utility suites. WSCC is only an interface, you need to download and install the utilities separately. Alternatively, WSCC can use the http protocol to download and run the programs.

The included Update Manager can check for newer versions of the utilities already installed and can download and install the missing items.

The setup packages are downloaded from the author's website!

    WSCC - Console

WSCC uses the included WSCC Console to execute command line applications.

WSCC is portable, installation is not required. Extract the content of the downloaded zip archive to any directory on your computer.

This edition of WSCC supports the following utility suites:

    * Windows Sysinternals Suite (including support for Sysinternals Live service)
    * NirSoft Utilities

I used Nir Sofer's ZipInstaller to 'install' WSCC to the Program Files tree, and now I use WSCC to load all my Sysinternals and NirSoft utilities.

Is Hulu Desktop in here yet? Except for some delay in getting new episodes of the Daily Show et cetera, I am loving Hulu Desktop.
