Windows 7: Text editors can't access the system drive

I have a strange problem with the text editors. ConText and Eclipse are not allowed to read and write on the system drive. I get ""Drive not accessable: Access is denied message " I tried to run as administrator and reinstall. Word Wordpad and Notepad++ don't have this problem Yesterday I ran a virus scan and updated my firewall. Windows 7 Ultimate x32.

The easiest way to fix this is to do a system restore. This should fix the problem.

I haven't used text editors for a while so I'm not sure to which date to restore any other ways to do this ?

Try running SFC /Scannow in Elevated Command Prompt and see if that does anything.

You may also want to run a repair install.

Does this problem persist with any other programs?

Nope. Dreamweaver opens files on the system drive Notepad++ and Word too. All players open files on the system drive

Windows found some problems but was unable to fix them


EDIT: Uninstalled again and rad the installer as administrator and launch the editor as administrator everytime. Works for both Eclipse and ConText. Hope it's fixed now . Thanks for helping

You require admin access for system folder. Run the editor as an administrator by right clicking on it first and choosing "run as Administrator".

The red and white warning triangle is used to denote either an abusive post OR to mark a thread as solved (just put solved in the box that comes up and the admins or moderators will mark it solved).
