HDD not seen with backitup imagetool

    Dear members,

is there a known issue with Nero Backitup imagetool not seeing SATA units when booting from CD?

I can only boot this CD with my USB CD drive. When trying with the integrated OD (sata) it fails to load.

Once loaded with my USB OD, it doesn't see my HDD (sata).

My Sata devices are set in IDE mode.
I tried with latest Imagetool version, same issue.

    Any idea?

    Thanks in advance

You may need to load your Sata controller drivers.

This is way to do it with the Windows 7 DVD.
SATA Driver - Load in Windows 7 or Vista Setup

You will need to check out NERO way.

ty Theog for your quick reply.

However I am not sure with the answer.

With a normal Win7 boot I have no issue.

The Imagetool boot disk loads with Linux, and there the HDD and internal OD doesn't show up.

How should I proceed with this driver?

As I do not use NERO backup, you will need to check the manual.

You will need to check out NERO way of loading Sata drivers.

    TY Theog,

I will check the way. I searched on google without really seeing this problem.
I noted same issue when using boot disc of Paragon Backup, both booting with Linux. Seems Sata is not embedded in Linux boot image.

I will come back on this thread if I progress. Might help others.

I got a feedback from Nero with following main info:

They are currently working on their product to improve drive recognition. I.E. they are aware of this problem.
For the time being, I should play with the Bios on the different methods it can manage the drives: disabled, compatible or enhanced.

    cheers

    Cheers.

    You are not alone.
I've been trying for days now to get my Acronis recovery DVD program to see my eSata hdd at startup.
    No solution yet...

ty for your feerdback. Paragon, which is free, can recognise my drive. So I use Nero for data backup via Win7, and Paragon for a system image from time to time...
