Media Player 11 for Windows 7 64-bit???

I really do not like Windows Media Player 12 in Windows 7, mainly because of the lack of mini player mode. Is it possible to downgrade to WMP 11 in Win 7 64-bit? All of the solutions I have seen only work for Win 7 32-bit. Has anyone encountered a fix for this in Win 7 64-Bit? Or am I on a wild goose chase?

Thanks for any and all suggestions...

If you only want the mini player:

    WMP12 Mini Toolbar

If however you still want to switch to WMP11. Skip to 2nd part. Personally, I think you are better off with WMP12 if you want to use WMP:

You can downgrade to WMP11, see this page, theres also a link there for the 64 bit installer.

    Also, this.

How to Get Windows Media Player (WMP) Taskbar Toolbar Back in Windows 7? - Tweaking with Vishal

But, BEWARE, from what I've seen this seems to be a one way street. If the downgrade gets mucked, restoring WMP12 is a very iffy task. I've seen instances where folks had to do a repair install/ full reinstall to get things working again.

So, I do not advise such a downgrade.

    Thanks For the Tip!

This worked for putting the mini player on the taskbar! That's kinda what I wanted. Now if I could only make it bigger or detach it and put it on the desktop, that would be perfect.

    Thanks to all who responded!
