    Handbrake Alternatives


    What are some alternatives for Handbrake? I've used Handbrake on my Mac for years, but heard the windows version doesn't work as well. I want to be able to backup copies of my DVD and also have digital versions for my netbook.

    have you tried handbrake yourself?

    have a look at dvdshrink - it can rip and backup. it's pretty basic, but it's free.

    as far as commercial software goes, dvdfab is very good and can convert to h264, but it costs unfortunately.

Handbrake 0.9.6

Just a comment for Handbrake users I have found the recent release of the 64 bit version Handbrake 0.9.6 to be a "bit" flaky. Norton Insight community report a similar finding. I'm sticking with the new 32 bit version of V 0.9.6.
