Adobe Flash Player 10 ActiveX

Browsing through Programs and Features, I was surprised to find that the Flash Player had two entries...one for the player and a second for ActiveX. It must have snuck in as one of the many updates that have come along. Knowing about the security risks of ActiveX in Windows, this makes me wonder about the risk of this in the Flash Player, as well as to how necessary it is?

The activeX one is for Internet Explorer 8. The other one (plugin) would be for Firefox. If you get rid of the activeX one, you won't have flash for IE8. It's normal. Nothing to worry about.

Thanks, since I rarely use IE, and never for Flash, I guess it can't do any harm.
