I am assuming you are using IE8 ?

If you have another browser ( Firefox , Opera , Chrome ) check the links in those browsers , if they come up then it is a problem with IE , I recently had the same problem .... sort of , could not log into facebook , I had to uninstall then do a clean install of IE8.
Can IE8 actually be uninstalled? I thought it was buried in the OS and couldnt be completely removed?
In Windows 7 : Start > Controll Panel > Programs > Uninstall a program > then in the left pane click "Turn Windows features on or off , when the box pops up untick Internet Explorer 8 > Click OK > Reboot.

This will uninstall IE 8 from your system , to reinstall follow the same steps only this time put a tick in the Internet Explorer 8 box .
