    Family Tree Maker 2010 platinum /drive


    I bought this product and cannot install it until i get it on the correct drive.its not compatible with win 7,but can get it if i get it on cd drive and do afew ither things. i have tried to at least 6 times and it keeps giving it to the dvd rw instead of the cd drive.How can i fix this and which is the cd drive in windows 7? Assume its c drive...ty for any assistance.

    This program is compatible with windows 7.
    Not sure what your problem is but just place the install cd into your cd drive and it should be recognized. Then run the .exe and it will set it up for you.
    That's the easy part the hard part is trying to find all of your relatives details, good luck with that

    Family tree maker does not have option to put it in c drive


    it freezes part way thru set up so cant fully install. i need to find out how to set prgms to go to correct path -as soon as they are put in tower it grabs the dvd rw drive instead.it says dvd rw as path everytime.ty for reply.

    also there is a patch but i cant use it until i get the prgm started on the correct cd drive path as soon as it goes in tower.

    Is this a downloaded version with an activation patch that need to be applied.

    a tech says it needs a patch to work and support says similar,they sent me steps to do but i cant get it to work unless it initially goes to right path

    I have the 2009 version and it works without a patch.
    When you start the install it will show the path it wants to install to, you need to change that (by clicking on Browse) and then navigating to c: program files and installing it there.

    Can you do a screen shot or screen snip of the install error / problem you are getting so we might see what it looks like ? How many CD, DVD drives do you have.

    Hi, As I mentioned previously I cant get past this box that comes up as soon as cd is put in tower...none of the options in the screenshot gets me to the c drive. i have c drive, e drive and dvd rw, thats it... but its not giving that option to change the path. http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n...screenshot.jpg
