    Rocket Dock

I installed Rocket Dock in an effort to avoid some UAC prompts. I liked it and was succesful in avoiding UAC prompts. But I could not get it to start on a system boot. I unistalled it. I will probably take another shot at it. So I was going to ask if any one else had a similar problem.

There was an entry in the registry to start it. I put entries in each user start menu. Everything looked fine. I could manually start it. Couldn't figure it out. One thing of note it was not installed on the system disk it was on another disk.

When first installing RocketDock you won't see it at all. The screens here however are a pictorial on things easy to follow since you will need to open up the settings screen for the various options.

I never run into any problems with it even when going after some custom skins. But I simply keep it hidden from view 99% of the time as an extra item to access different things while having multiple windows or apps going and not able to get at the taskbar generally keeping it on the second not primary display.

The screens above are not from the main system but one being refurbished with a temp install of 7 on at the moment.

    Rocket Dock -- Second Try

I reloaded it every thing looked good. Came up the first time I rebooted. Didn't come up on following reboots. Quit fighting it and wrote a task to boot it with full privleges. Seems to be comming up now on a boot. It's a workaround but I gonna leave it there.
My third party apps do not give me a UAC prompt now (ones added to the dock that is)

Did you remember to check off the "startup with Windows" box as well as the "mouse over popup"? That would help without any need for a custom script.

In fact the item in Image #4 for Dock Settings as well as the other items for their site can be removed with a right click to clean those off entirely! All you do from there is simply right click on the toolbar itself and select the settings option to bring up that screen.

What's nice about this particular addon toolbar is when access is blocked to the main taskber with multiple windows or other things open you can run the cursor over it and have extra access to the same as well as other items simply after dragging a shortcut onto it.

Disadvantage? Not all shortcuts for every program will take however. For the ones that won't you can add a new toolbar onto the Start taskbar itself. Quick Launch - Enable or Disable

    Still Tweaking It

It's working fine. except it disappears after a sleep mode. The task brings it up on a boot. I am going to make a shortcut to the task (the task can be run manually)
You are soo right I did not have "mouse over" ticked off. It was poping up when I got close any way. Give me a little time to check it out (tomorrow).

    Task

Rocket shuts down when the comp goes into sleep mode. The task does not restart it comming out of sleep, Created shortcut to restart with out rebooting. I Know it is working on some systems but there must be something unique in my system that it does not play well with. SFC returns no errors. It's working so I will wait for a new version.

Mainly when putting the system here(New custom build) into sleep mode and then awakening it the desktop and everything loads right as it was prior to the sleep after 2hrs. kicks in. It never takes much to get it going again just the same since it's only a small program to begin with and not any resource hog by a long shot.

With the additional toolbars here it acts more like a show piece then serving any real purpose besides explaining how to clear off a desktop or have a second taskbar when you have too much open on the main taskbar itself.

Sometimes it can annoying depending where you have it on the screen however when you are trying to click on something else and the mouse popup box is left checked off and it springs up at the wrong time. That's where the adjustment slider for the delay time can be a real help.
