    Safari 4.0 Beta + Radeon 7500 = BSOD

Well, I did a fresh install of 7100 on my laptop along with Lenovo's ATI Radeon 7500 drivers.

I installed all my other browsers (I have IE8, FF3, Safari4b, and Chrome) and they all work, except Safari. When I double-click on Safari, around 3-5 seconds later I get the great BSOD.

    Here's what it says:
    Code:
    ati3duag.dll

    PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

    STOP: 0x00000050 (0xFFFFFFFE, 0x00000000, 0x8B9D6B91, 0x00000000)

    ati3duag.dll - Address 8B9D6B91 base at 8B9C0000 Datestamp 45c9470b
Any ideas on why this is occuring? I thought it was a bug earlier so I reinstalled everything and it's the same thing every time.

    EDIT: Safari 3.2.2 works perfectly.

After some investigating, it was the drivers.

I used the drivers from the IBM site. I then switched to the Catalyst 6.2 drivers here and it works perfectly.

On your thinkpad, did you get Aero effects to work? And I couldn't figure out how to install those catalyst drivers (I have the same Graphics Card). Right now I am using the drivers from the website.

Aero doesn't work for a card this old. You need a *MINIMUM* of a Radeon 9250 (I think) to get it to work.

If you can live without Aero, it runs perfectly. If not, probably need a new laptop.

Unfortunately that is what many people told me.

    Thanks anyway
