Windows 7: windows live messanger beta

windows live messanger beta

I have recently downloaded the above programme primarily to get widescreen. All was well until tonight when the picture was awful and the programme kept dropping.

I have an AMD Phenom II 945 based system running Windows 7 home premium and the computer i was calling is running an equivalent quad core intel chip based system running Vista.

The screen today kept on telling me to update my device drivers but i have double checked the system devices and the computer is telling me i have the most upto date drivers.

Any clues anybody ? Has anyone else experienced this ?

Thanks in advance.

P.s if this has been posted in the wrong area then i appologise but there didn't seem to be a web cam section.

Check optional Windows Updates for newer Display driver.

Look for a newer Display driver on the Support Downloads webpage for your computer or video card model.

If the drivers don't work any better, you can roll them back on the Driver tab for the device.

If problems persist, try uninstalling the program to reinstall the older version, or System Restore.

Why has Windows Live Messanger icon got the "administrator" shield?
In the Start menu, the icon for Windows Live Messenger has the "Admistrator" blue/yellow shield overlay. This is a shortcut, and I can find no reason why the overlay should be there. The underlying program is C:\Program Files (x86)\windows Live\Messenger\msnmsgr.exe and that also has the shield...

Windows Live Messenger Beta
Windows Live Messenger Beta has two taskbar "boxes" open when buddy list is open and 1 open at all times to quickly change your "avalability" and there is no tray icon so you can't quickly close it without signing out and closing or just ending the process with task manager. Quite an annoyance
