    Realtek HD Audio Manager

Hello, I'm having a problem with the audio manager listed above.

Because that audio manager offers things that my current one does not, I tried to install it to my computer. I went through the process, and restarted the computer as the process told me to, however I was unable to successfully install it, and it does not work on my computer. It will not install. can anyone help me with this?

It would be helpful if we knew what computer you had. Please finish filling out your system specs in your User CP (link in upper-right hand corner of the site). When you put the info in there it is viewable on all of your post on the site. It is extremely helpful when we know what you are working with.

Thank you for your response. I have updated my computer specs. If that is not enough help, please let me know and I'll add more (I added what I could find easily)

Hi SmsBaden and welcome to Windows 7 Forums

Sorry, but you cannot install a Realtek audio driver and expect it to work if you don't have a Realtek codec on board. From your specs, I can see that you have a Conexant device. The following is from their website:
    Conexant Website said:
    PC Audio Support - Windows® 7
Conexant develops audio solutions that are used in a wide range of products including personal computers. We provide customized audio drivers to our customers, which include major computer manufacturers globally. At the request of these manufacturers, Conexant does not provide end-user support or drivers for PC audio products. If you have an issue with the audio configuration in Windows 7, please contact the manufacturer of your computer.
You have only provided the first part of the model number, what is the full number as there are 14 models listed on the Toshiba site?

It should be on a label on the underside of your laptop.

You do understand that you -do not- have a Realtek audio chip, it's impossible to use a driver for hardware that's not in the machine. The Realtek Audio manager is a visual interface for the Realtek driver, can't use one without the other.

This is your audio hardware - Conexant CX20671 SmartAudioHD

OK, go here: Toshiba Support - Homepage

Click on Download and then click Laptops, Satellite in the first two selection panels. In the third, type C655D in the filter box to narrow the search range. Browse the models listed until you find the one that matches yours , highlight it and click on Go.

Click the Downloads tab and then, in Refine Search by:, select Windows 7 (64bit) and Sound in the two option boxes. Your driver download will appear below. Click on the filename, and then click on Download Now. Save the file to your HDD and then install by double-clicking on the downloaded file. Follow any instructions that appear.

Sound successfully restored. The thing I wanted to acquire on the computer was the ability to change the sound of the audio the way I could with Realtek. Realtek had an option called "Karaoke" which could be clicked 4 times positively and 4 times negatively, is there any way I can do that with conexant?
