Windows 7 RC
MSI GX630 Laptop + No Sound

Hi there,

I have installed Windows 7 RC x86 on my GX630 and seem to have the same issues as everyone else with Realtek... no sound... nothing from internal speakers, nor when headphones are plugged in.

Anyone got any more suggestions for me?

I just formatted and installed from scratch to give a blank slate.
  • Installed R224 drivers from Realtek
  • Tried with Compatibility mode set to Vista, set to XP or set to Administrator mode
  • Checked out port settings in registry as per sticky. I found no Settings folder in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E96C-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\0000\" perhaps registry entries missing.
In the past I have tried multiple driver options including the original ones on the included driver disk, from the MSI website and any number of ones from realtek.

Only thing I can think of at the moment is a Codec issue
Any assistance would be helpful.
