    Need urgent help with audio

    Hello guys.
I have laptop HP pavilion Dv6000, it has Conexant High Definition Audio. The sound was working while ago, then i had a problem with my charger the wire broke so i had to wait month before i got my charger. Sound worked when i got my new charger but then suddenly it stopped working. I restored my computer to previous state and It started working again. But then after 1 hour or so it stops working.
The volume controller on right bottom has a cross sign and when i click on it to troubleshoot it says driver changes might not be detected. When I go to device manager there is not content for sound, video and controllers. when i try to install the driver it says media device is not found for this driver.
Please help me I am tired of this, I have windows 7 professional.

thank you for your time and help

    Welcome to SevenForums nizankhan
When you look in device manager are there any entry's with the yellow ? in it. If so try to update that driver by right click and click properties.

Have you ran a virus scan to see if this may be a virus problem? Also you can run malware scan. I like the malewarebytes found at this link.

This seems to be a problem with the Conexant drivers that after a while they just go BYE BYE I have some friends with Laptops and some desktops that use the same driver and it is constantly trying to reinstall after a restart or cold start

Ok not sure i can help with soundcard issue but try this microsoft fix for dvd
Your CD or DVD drive cannot read or write media
on my old pc i used to get a problem after i booted ,i would get a cross on the volume speaker icon bottom right also. it drove me nuts trying to sort it out but the thing i did to fix it was to left click the icon then turn the volume up or down and the x would dissapear. i still dont know why it had an issue but that was a fix , i dont suppose this will work in your case but its worth a shot!. good luck

I got the sound working. But again after few hours, drivers gone. I cant even install it, I disable my display driver and uninstall my nvideo chipset drivers then i tried to install my sound and it worked. Then later i installed my nvideo drivers and after few hours sound was gone. So I again disabled and uninstall the nvideo drivers but now i cant install it. U know how you go to Have disk option and select the file and it pops up the driver and youclick neext, i do that but no drivers pops up. man this is so annoying i feel like smashing my laptop!!!!!!!!
