Audio crashed when playing games

First of all I must say that not every game causes the sound to crash**

That said, I'll go ahead.

I don't know if its driver related or the motherboard that has a problem but, whenever I play Left 4 dead 2 or Heroes of Newerth for some time.. lets say like.. 20 minutes or so or when there's intensive sound happening like everyone shooting guns at the same time or something, my sound just STOP working completly. Not only the ingame sound, but every sound, even in WINDOWS. I can listen to any music or any games sound unless I reboot. And I'm bored of rebooting everytime it happens.

I tried a new realtek HD driver, I've tried desinstalling it, reinstalling without any solution.

Altho now I desinstalled the driver and I let windows find one. So instead of being Realtek High definition audio driver, its only High definition audio. It seems like working fine for now.. But I still want to know if its a problem with realtek drivers..

Thanks for helping me.

Gaming, and especially "intensive gaming" is worst case for a PC. You didn't list your system specs but if this is a laptop the heat generated during gaming can even be worse.

If this is a desktop, make sure the tower is sitting in a location where it gets "adequate" cool air flow. A computer desk compartment in most cases is not a good location for airflow. Sitting on a carpeted floor can also be a bad location. Cleaning out the insides of the PC can also help air flow. You can have dust collecting inside even in a very clean location (we even had this problem in a computer room).
