Windows 7: Headphone jack only in mono

The headphone jack on my new laptop is only playing in mono.
Anybody know why?

Actually it's in stereo, but it doesn't pan all the way. If I pan an audio track 100% to the right or left, it only pans about halfway in my headphones (or in my speakers if that's what I plug in).

Nevermind. Figured it out. I turned off the enhancement that supposedly makes you percieve that there's dolby surround coming from the computer.
