    Microphone Issue for Gateway Laptop


    I recently installed Windows 7 and the built-in microphone in my Gateway M-1625 laptop stopped working. I've searched for hours to try and figure out how to fix the problem, but to not avail.

    I've tried downloading new drivers from the Gateway website, but the only audio drivers available for my model number correspond to Windows Vista.

    I've tried adjusting the audio settings, reinstalling the drivers, etc. and yet I still have not been able to fix the problem.

    Any suggestions?

    WIN | type Troubleshooting | choose, in the Control Panel section, Troubleshooting | Under Hardware and Sound, choose Troubleshoot Audio Playback.

    Already tried that. Says troubleshooting couldn't find a problem.
