    Headset for Skype/Movie/Gaming

I need to use Skype for the first time. Also I would like to be able to play mp3's and video files at night so I don't disturb roommates. I do play COD4MP and I think you won't be able to get game sound if I plan on doing online chat with COD4. I rather just hear the normal sounds of the game.

I was looking at this product with these specification:

Micro Broadcaster Pro Multimedia Headset with Microphone

The Broadcaster Pro Multimedia Headset with Microphone is designed to provide studio quality sound technology to your music, gaming, and video teleconferencing environment. The omni-directional microphone is voice recognition and internet phone capable for interactive gaming over the internet or other multimedia applications.
    Specifications:
    Manufacturer Warranty- Limited Lifetime Warranty
    Device Color- Black
    Microphone- Integrated microphone
    Controls- Volume control
    Speakers- Left and Right
    Sound Output Mode- Stereo
Response Bandwidth- 20 Hz to 20 KHz
    Impedance- 32 ohms
    Included Cables- 6 foot cable
Ports/Connectors Required- Requires (1) 3.5mm audio out jack and (1) 3.5mm microphone jack
PS- I have a pretty good sound system but I don't' want to be disruptive of my roommates so I prefer something like this just for the nights I stay up late.

Or any other recommendations on a tiny budget, max $20.00. I hope I'm not asking for a miracle, LOL

$20 is not much for a "quality" headset/mic. For $20 you are only going to get a "cheapo" model. You need "closed back" type headphones to minimize others hearing it.

Yea small budget but only looking for something basic, only during "some nights".

I've even seen some Logitech around $20-$25. I'm not looking for a super quality because 95% of the time, I will use my speaker system.

This is probably for an occasional Skype call, and I mean occasionally.

My question really is will these headsets play normal Windows sound, like audio when watching a movie or playing an mp3.

For gaming I really don't care too much because I won't use the Chat mode, just want to hear the actual game sound.

Hey its $20.00 what do I have to lose.

Any headset designed for a PC will work. It just comes down to what you are expecting or wanting, compared to what your budget is. Just remember as with most items, you get what you pay for.
