    NEED HELP creative Xtremegamer soundcard

okay my sound mic was working fine. Yesterday my houses power went out , after that mycomputer is acting wierd.
My microphone does not work anymore , i tried reinstalling drivers , i tried everything literly , unplugging , plugging back in , nothing works.

The sound works on the headphones but when i want to test my mic or talk the mic
does not work . when i unplug and replug it back sometimes computer freezes and i have to restart and also sometimes my whole sound disables and have to restart to get the sound back .

if someone helps me it would be great thank you.

With a power failure and the PC powered on, anything is possible from a hard drive corruption of the OS or software to hardware failures.

If you have any hardware diagnostics, run those (If you have a Dell, F12 at POST will access the hardware diagnostics).

I would suggest running a Win 7 startup repair by booting from your Win 7 disc. See This and see if it finds any problems. Your System Specs were not listed but another thought is to reinstall the motherboard chipset drivers and then the sound drivers and see if that helps.

okay what i did now was that i uninstalled the creative soundcard and installed my onboard realtek from the mother board , same thing it does not work on either one , so i know something is sketchy..... i thought it could have been the sound card but i doubt it.

i also tried reinstalling the motherboard chipsets , same thing

    i have a p6t asus mother board.

anything on bios i have to do? or any suggestions?

if i play a video or music and record the mic , it will play those sounds.

Are the mic's shown in the Control Panel/Hardware and Sound and finally Sound Panel's Recording section? If not, RIGHT click in a blank area and check the show disabled devices and also show Disconnected devices. This should tell you if they are available in the sound chip.
