    Microphone not working

I just updated from XP to Win 7 and I can not use my microphone.

I have a headset with a MIC built into it and I can hear through the ear piece but I can not speak.

Device manager shows that I am missing the driver for PCI simple communications controller, but Lenovo or Intel do not seem to have a driver. I have installed several but device still not working.

can you help? What other information do you need?

    System Manufacturer/Model Number Lenovo M58
    OS Windows 7 32 Bit
    CPU Pentium Duo Core
    Memory 2GB
Sound Card SoundMax Integrated Digital HD

Welcome to SevenForums. I would try a different headset if you cn get a hold of one. If the problem still exists I would try reinstalling the soundnax drivers.

At the start button, type Sound. For Microphone, click on Properties. Check Levels and see if your microphone is muted.
