Sound Skipping Every Few Seconds
Hey basically I have this problem with the sound having a slight skip / crack every 5 seconds or so. This is happening in games, music playing software and online videos. I'll admit that it's only a very slight thing, but I find it to be very annoying.
I tried using DPC Latency Checker and it said: "Some device drivers on this machine behave bad and will probably cause drop-outs in real-time audio and/or video streams. To isolate the misbehaving driver use Device Manager and disable/re-enable various devices, one at a time. Try network and W-LAN adapters, modems, internal sound devices, USB host controllers, etc." The levels got up to 30,000us+
I tried disabling the LAN adapter and sound devices which yielded no change (had no idea how to safely disable USB host controllers)
I've tried uninstalling then updating my Realtek Audio drivers to the latest version for my motherboard.
I should mention that I built this computer (was my first), so is there anything I might have missed / did incorrectly that could be causing this? Or could it be something else?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
EDIT: Problem was caused by a program the motherboard installed. Guessed what it was designed to do...enhance the performance of the PC. Nice job there.
