hey guys.

just installed the RC but have no sound, i went to the asrock website and downloaded the vista driver and run it in compatability mode now the red circle over the speaker symbol has gone but i still dont have any sound

if i start up on my other HDD with vista on it, the sound still works fine so everything is working correctly.

any ideas?

You got the driver from realtek? Sound Card Motherboard - Realtek ALC888
Did you check to make sure the volume slider (in systray) is not at 0?
Did you go into control panel>sounds and check to see if your playback device is recognized?
Let me know if that doesn't help

Ken

yep the slider is not at 0.

went to control panel and it says realtek high def audio, default device.

there is a speaker with a tick and it says this device is working properly.

im just wondering if i have installed the wrong driver or something.
currently downloading another driver that is compatible with windows 7.

will let you know how i get on
