    Popping sound on Audio recordings

    Hi all

I just bought a new Windows 7 prof PC, dual core 2.8GHz, 2Gb RAM. When I plug my Guitar's multi-effects pedal into the sound port the sound is clear when I play the guitar through the PC and when I record. But when I play back the recording there's a popping sound that ruins the recording. I used to record in this same way on my previous Windows XP PC and had no such problem, the recordings were clean. I reinstalled Windows, reloaded the sound card drivers but problem persists.

    Any help would be appreciated!

Are all of your connections clean? What recording software are you using?

Have you looked over the multitude of postings here on "popping and crackling" to see if anything in these pertains to your new PC.
