Hm becuse my windows 7 is an update before i reformated and just updated from vita i had no problem with my microphone. So would it be a good idea to try and download the vista drivers?

EDIT: when i reformated i installed vista and then stright after Windows 7. (i dont know what effect that will have) basically what i mean is i did not update anything on vista i just went stright to updating to windows 7. I am not sure if this had any effect.

Bummer, ok one more thing from me, as I don't use a mic myself. If no help, others will be along with ideas.

Found this tute by our own Brink from the Vista forum, procedure will be the same on 7. This is similar to what I had you do before. Do the right click blank area, and see if perhaps a device is disabled.

Audio Device - Enable Hidden Devices - Vista Forums

Also, I see that when you use a mic, you will see sound bars moving on the recording tab, do you see signs that the mic is working, but there is just no sound?

I know the experts here always recommend a clean install. I'll add some basic things we suggest. Use the System File Checker

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

You may want to try a repair install, but hold off until others have a chance to reply

No problem, we have Guru's from all over the globe, just post back when you get a chance. A Guy

P.S. When you come back, fill in your system specs and it will help us to help you. If you don't know how, we can recommend programs to get the info.
