Realtek HD Audio No Rear Sound

I have a problem with the Realtek HD Audio. I just installed Windows 7, and configured my audio settings for all my 4 speakers, 2 front and 2 rear. The test was successful, from Realtek HD Audio Manager.
But I was just playing a song on iTunes and there was no sound coming from the rear speakers. I went opened the Audio manager again and checked the settings, and they were fine. I even tested all four speakers and I could hear those BEEPS or whatever from them, but the song only played through the fron speakers.

I went through forum, and found out there's an update to the driver. I just installed it, but it got worse. It doesn't support the 4 speaker settings, all I see is a speaker setting for STEREO. What do I do now, re-install the old driver again?

And what should I do about no sound coming from my rear speakers?

Thanks guys, and please help! =(

From the top of my head:

If you play music from your computer you get stereo, 2 speaker output, unless you use the option to spread the 2 channels to all your speakers.

Sorry dont know how this option is called in the settings (something with dolby digital i think).

PS in my computer my rear speakers are refered to by the connection "side speakers" in the hd settings.

But before I installed the updated driver, I had these speaker setup options.
    Stereo
    Quadraphonic
    5.1 Surround

I selected Quadraphonic, and it was 4 speaker layout and settings. When I clicked on the speakers one by one to test the sound, I could hear it even from the rear ones. But when the song used to play there was no sound from the rear.

I'm downloading the new driver again, just in case I got the wrong one. But the download's really slow from Realtek's website.

It may be the driver but we will see, in the meantime while your waiting for the download, why dont you fill in your System Specs, top left of page, in user CP, and it might tell us something.

Thanks a lot for the site! The updates there will really help me solve some other minor issues.

Btw in the AUDIO drivers section of my motherboard, I saw this.

Realtek Audio Driver V6.0.1.5473 for Windows Vista & 64bit Vista(WHQL).
Should I get this or stick to the one i'm downloading from Realtek? The realtek one got updated a few days ago i think, but this one was last updated on 2007/10/19.

Try the one you are downloading at the moment and we will see what happens.
