Hello.

I just installed windows 7 the other day. When I restart my computer the sound won't work unless I reinstall my audio drivers, but when I restart next I will have to reinstall again. It's not that it doesn't have a driver at all, device manager shows that one is installed, it just doesnt seem to work. Is it possible it's being over written by one made for windows 7 which for whatever reason does not work? Or is it something different entirely?

The driver that does work (after reinstallation each time) is made for vista 64 bit. I am using windows 7 professional 64 bit.

Thanks.

Welcome to Seven Forums water11011. To start it will usually help us if you fill out your System Specs. In the line at the top of the forum, you will see UserCP. That is an abbreviation for User Control Panel. Click on it. In the left-hand column, under Your Profile you will see Edit System Spec. Click on that and fill it out. If you don't know your system info, you can download the free Speccy to fill out the info. In your case, info on the audio will be important.

Generally, I'd say, uninstall any audio drivers, reboot and let windows detect and install any drivers. If you still have issues, or don't have certain functions. Then try an updated driver from the manufacturer. Once we know your specs, we then might be able to suggest another driver or method. A Guy

Hello,

Unfortunatly, all that program says under audio is `High Definition Audio Device`.

Thanks
