Realtek HD problem with sound

Hi all

I hope someone can help me on this, as it is a problem I've had for quite some time now.
I did a search and couldn't find a similar post, so if there is one, please direct me accordingly.

I own a Samsung R720 Notebook. It comes standard with Windows7 Home Premium 32bit and all the drivers are updated.

My problem is as follows:

When I play anything (video/music/games/etc) through the notebook speakers and the HDMI port to my TV, everything is fine, but when I play something through the headphone jack, it seems that one stereo channel is softer than the other.
For example, I'll watch a movie and you can hear all the sounds and music, but you can't hear the talking / I'll listen to music and you can hear the music but not the singing.
I have checked the Speakers Properties/Levels/Balance and that is set equally.

I simply can't seem to come up with a solution myself.

Any ideas?

I have the same laptop.

Your auido works as normal through other interfaces so you can count driver the out.

You may have done this but have you tried another pair of headphones...

I did indeed, same problem.

Do you think maybe it's something to do with the headphone jack perhaps?

It could be that there is dust inside the jack.

If you have a compressed air give it a blast of that, otherwise i will have a look on my R720 to find a solution.

The problem with that is i wont be able to use my R720 until later today.

I'll try the compressed air bit.

Thanks for the effort

Im not sure if you have looked here.

There are a few things here that can affect the audio output.

What to do is play something leaving the headphones out.

Insert the headphone while the audio is playing and look to find out if any of these settings have changed...
