    M-Audio Producer USB Microphone

Hi everyone, I purchased this M-Audio Produce USB Microphone for my daughter for Christmas. I have come to try and install it and The drivers are not for windows 7 64bit. I have gone to their website and downloaded the right drivers. I now have the operating software installed and I tried to install the driver for the microphone itself and I get "The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2753" and then installation stops. I ahve tried everything and nothing works.

    Does anyone have a solution?

    Thanks
    Kim

Hello there Kim, this is what i've found on M-Audio Forums

    Hi debian!

I got the same error. Some of the "old" driver files were not removed properly.

    Here's what you do:

    1. Uninstall the new beta driver
    2. Remove all files that match: "delta*.*" in your c:\windows\system32 directory
    3. Reinstall the new beta driver

You're ready to go! - hopefully...

    Regards

    Acoustics
Since this is the first time installing the drivers, you could skip step 1

    and here's Another

Disconnect the Producer and uninstall all M-Audio drivers. The 2753 may be caused by files from other M-Audio devices, so check C:\Windows\system32 to see if there are any M-Audio files; they may start with "ma", but make sure they are related to M-Audio, if you are unsure, don't delete it. Then try re-installing the drivers
The only part i don't like about these solutions is the fact that you have to mess inside the system32 folder! but that's the answer they gave to those users on the M-Audio Forum!

    Punkster Thanks for your help,

I think I have done it. I uninstalled all the drivers then I restarted the computer. I then went back and opened the the installation cd, I found the setup.exe file and I changed compatabilty to Vista SP2 and checked run as administrator. All the programs installed correctly and the Pro Tools M-powered essential software opened up and the mic works. Now I have to work out how to actually make recordings.
