Windows 7: No audio from IVF file

No audio from a Radio station Web site (dynamicasx.IVF file) on computer with Windows 7. After changing the default program for the .ivf file to Windows Media Player I get the error report that the .ivf file is not recognized by WMP. Win 7/WMP 12 should be able to play .ivf files according to what I can find in the Internet. Audio is fine with a computer running Win XP and with the Windows 7 computer running Virtual XP mode.

That is an Intel Indeo Video file, not an "audio" file. But, if it won't play then you are probably missing the codec for that format. Download the free K-Lite codec pack as that probably has the codec you need.

Could not find anything that mentioned an .ivf file. After installing the Mega version nothing changed.

Do a google search for the ivf file/codec there are lots of hits and maybe one will get you the needed codec to be able to play or hear them. If the K lite pack does not have it, either you have some other problem with this type or it's an obscure/obsolete type file.

Problem solved, kinda. Learned from the Web Master for the radio program that it is a browser problem. He give me a streaming URL address to paste in a field of Windows Media Player that provided access to the audio. Now we will see if there is a fix for the problem in IE 8.
