Short story: You may solve it easily, with difficulty, or never.

In which case you buy another sound card.

Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

Hi Folks:

Well I tried with two different drivers and they didn't work.

So I sent an e-mail to HTOmega and their Striker 7.1 and drivers still has the system mixer (record what u hear) option available for Windows 7. I can also adjust the settings to my two-speaker system.

This new sound card will be a great improvement on my existing one.

Many thanks Fireberd for the recommendation and everyone for their help,

I also have a newer SoundBlaster Xfi but it was causing conflict problems with my Sonar recording studio software. I removed it and installed the Striker 7.1 and that eliminated the conflict problem and the Striker 7.1 has as good (or maybe better) sound than the SoundBlaster.

Record "what you hear"
It seams in windows 7 I can no longer "record what you hear". I boot over to XP and I have this functionality (SoundBlaster Live!) but not in W7. I've searched through the myriad of dialog boxes and settings that I now have to go through, but find nothing. I hope this isn't more of MS's DRM...

Stereo Mixer "What U Hear" Suddenly Stopped Working
I realize the title happens frequently in general. I myself have had to go in and restore the device countless times on reboot. That's not the issue (default device, device enabled, etc). For some mysterious reason, my What U Hear is malfunctioning and picking up absolutely nothing as of last...

How to "record what you hear"
I'm trying to do two things 1) make Audacity record what plays through my speakers, like a midi for example 2) make my computer play sound files as it it was a microphone, to, for example, play music over a skype call. I have realtec audio drivers/card/thing, and under XP all I would have to...

Windows 7 Can't record "What you Hear"
Hi, my first thread here. I have searched many forums and webpages looking for a solution for my problem. I just bought a Sony Vaio VGN-NW26M Laptop for Recording Music and Video Editing. My audio card says its a RealTek High definition. I just can't seem to find any Line-In or Audio Mix. I...

Record From "What U Hear"!!!
I figured it out woot! I am excited right now haha. So the reason I could not get my applications to record using the "what u hear" option is because it was hidden and not set as the default device. It was so simple too  So for anyone having the same issue. Open recording...
